IMAGINE
Gender Inclusion and Equity

As the writer of one of the earliest policies to support gender expansive and transgender staff and participants in the camping industry, our CIO, Bria Cartwright, has provided support and guidance to numerous programs and organizations looking to create a more inclusive culture. Having presented workshops at both the local and national level, she loves sharing lessons learned and questions that arose during this important process.  While the guide she created is organization and program specific, her insight can help your organization dig into the questions you'll need to answer along the way and help set you up for success as you develop policies and practices of your own. She's also available to be a sounding board, brainstorm partner or coach during your process.

As she began to reflect on her experience as a woman in an industry and organization with significantly more men than women in leadership roles, her work in this arena expanded. She began to research the larger impact of gender bias & stereotypes on all genders and the impact and limits they place on individuals. She provides training on this topic, including how to interrupt those biases and create more welcoming and inclusive environments for staff at all levels as well as for customers.

At Ready 2 Imagine we believe that, in addition to ensuring we are creating safe and welcoming spaces for the gender expansive community, by exploring the impact of gender equity we can make changes that create more open and inclusive environments for all genders.
